We needed a very specific fee configuration for our Shopify store, and VOL Extra Fees has been a great solution so far.

Our business sells bicycles and accessories, and we wanted to apply a $150 transfer fee per bicycle when customers choose local pickup in St. Petersburg, while keeping shipping free of that additional transfer fee. Accessories also needed to be excluded entirely.

It sounds straightforward, but getting all those conditions to work together in Shopify required more attention than I initially expected.
What really impressed me was Vugar, the founder of VOL Apps, who personally took care of the configuration rather than leaving us to figure everything out ourselves.

He configured the different cart options, applied the fee rules to the correct product collection, and tested the calculations to make sure the charge was $150 for one bicycle and $300 for two.

He also paid attention to the little details that are easy to overlook. He adjusted the cart styling to match our store, added an explanation so customers could understand the transfer fee, and even tested the mobile tooltip at different screen sizes to make sure it displayed properly.

Another thing I appreciated was his transparency. He clearly explained Shopify's limitations around delivery selections and why customers still need to choose the corresponding method at checkout.

During the final checks, he also identified a cart refresh compatibility issue. Rather than pretending everything was perfect, he acknowledged it and escalated it for further investigation.

The fee calculations are working correctly in our tests, and we're finishing the remaining compatibility checks.

This App actually works for a surcharge on POS "Retail". We are a wholesaler so our products are priced at Wholesale, but some beauty products we can sell to the public, but at a higher price. Everyone can discount, but we needed the opposite which seemed to be impossible to find - until now! Vugar set everything up for me - walked me through the final couple of steps at our Shopify POS and voila, it is all working. Customer tagged retail or doesn't have a wholesale account, automatically the surcharge is added. Staff don't have to do anything - it just happens. I had a great experience with VOL Extra Fees, especially with the personal support from Vugar, the founder.
